House of Horror launched in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Halloween horror is seen in the United States, Canada, and the British Isles the famous being Madam Tussauds in England, the Disneyland in USA or Sentosa Island in Singapore.

But a House of Horrors (HOH), as it is known has hit Mumbai also on May 12. Promoted by Satish Reddy, a journalist-turned-businessman and Dr. Tanaz Irani, a gynecologist by profession, it is already a hit after the star studded grand launch of this scary and deadly walkthrough amusement place at the Prime Mall, Irla in Vile Parle suburbs.

The House of Horrors sprawls through 1800 sq. ft. area, could be the scariest nightmare of your life priced for Rs.200 for a 15 – 20 minute long deadly walk in the pitch darkness through the uneven pathway, screaming and screeching witches, the unexpected encounters with the awakened Satan and experience the shivers run through your spine with the horrifying blood bath and splitting floor. It's a complete horrendous experience that can challenge the guts of any horror freak.

Speaking on this new venture Reddy, Director, said, "It's a very novel and adventurous concept. It's a 30 billion dollar industry abroad and still remains untapped and dormant in India. Horror has always been an ingredient for films and television but this will give people a living experience. It took us four months to set it up her, though due to space constraints in Mumbai it is not as big as abroad but we have tried to do the best possible. The horror element is also balanced as it caters to an age group from 12 – 60 yrs. We are also looking forward to opening three more HOH in Mumbai."

This imported technology went through a litmus test in Pune, which got its first HOH an year ago at Adlabs Mariplex Mall and has succeeded to generate tremendous response and a perennial footfall. Meant for all age groups, it's a must see for all with the grit to face the skulls and ghostly shadows specially designed to scare the wits out of you. This horrifying concept of the west has been Indianized with the ghosts of Indian features.

"We have tried to create the best at an affordable price, whereas abroad the same could cost you anything between Rs.600 – Rs.5000. Also the entry is restricted at people's own risk and children would require their guardian's assistance or consent to go in. Pregnant women, heart patients and blood pressure patients are completely restricted to enter. We also have a CCTV to monitor what is going on inside and recording facility of every walkthrough for security and contingency purposes," added Dr. Tanaz Irani, Director, House of Horrors.

So, if you thought horror was only limited to movies and television, The House of Horror proves otherwise…. So dare to walk through the hell and remember "Darna Mana Hai."
